Step 1: Install Server Software
InsightAtlast installs and configures the SOSMobile Server to your specifications. This Server software stores and controls the flow of data. Opting for our hosted version ensures the data is always backed up and the software is always up-to-date.
Step 2: Install SOSDispatch
Install the SOSDispatch application on one or more computers at the office. An installation tutorial will guide you through the process. Now the office can create and assign work to the field, as well as monitor progress in real time.
Step 3: Download the SOSRemote App
Download the SOSRemote App on your mobile devices using the appropriate App Store. (There's also a version for Windows devices.) Now field workers have a paperless way to complete their work orders, with real-time updates to and from the field.
Step 4: Create the Work Orders
Work orders can be created using the SOSDispatch application and/or pulled from integrated back-end systems. SOSMobile can also create orders automatically for various tasks, such as 811 Line Locates or recurring work such as hydrant painting, vegetation management, etc.
Step 5: Assign the Work
Control the flow of work to the field and monitor progress in real time via SOSDispatch's map view. Utilities can also opt to have SOSMobile schedule and auto-assign the work.
Step 6: Complete the Work
Orders appear on the Field Techs' mobile devices giving them all the information they need to complete their work and connect to the office.
At the heart of SOSMobile is its Server software. This software stores and controls the flow of data to and from the field, as well as to and from any integrated systems.
SOSRemote allows Field Techs to stay connected in the field using most any mobile device.
SOSDispatch gives dispatchers or office personnel control over the flow of work to the field, as well as the ability to monitor progress in the field.
An optional load balancing tool, SOSScheduler with its auto-dispatch component can be configured for any Utility's scheduling needs. Large utilities with complicated business rules are currently using this module.
Used in conjunction with SOSScheduler, SOSWeb allows customers to maintain and schedule their own service orders using a Utility's existing website.
This optional module parses information from incoming email - such as 811 line locate notifications - automatically creating electronic orders.
